Rippe Lifestyle Institute (RLI), an organization engaged in clinical and academic research, publishing, and partnering in health promotion and disease prevention projects, currently has an immediate need for a clinical research associate.
The successful candidate is required to have obtained a Masters degree in either Clinical Exercise Physiology or Nutrition. However, an emphasis in obesity and/or metabolism is essential. It is required that the successful candidate has had previous experience in a clinical research setting. As such, the successful candidate should have a range of clinical skills including but not limited to : phlebotomy, biohazard sample collection/treatment/storage/disposal, measurement of maximal cardio-respiratory fitness, and nutrition review. Additionally required is the demonstrated ability to manage the Institutional Review Board (IRB) process and ensure IRB compliance. Finally, a demonstrated ability to create and manage databases and analyze data using statistical software (SPSS or SAS) is highly beneficial.

CLINICAL/RESEARCH SCIENTIST (APPLIED PHYSIOLOGY)
An organization engaged in clinical and academic research, publishing, and partnering in health promotion and disease prevention projects, has an immediate need for a Clinical/Research Scientist (Applied Physiology), at its facility in Celebration, Florida.
This largely independent position is responsible for coordinating and conducting clinical research projects in weight management and fructose metabolism.
Responsibilities include contributing to the technical elements of grant proposals, research protocol development, Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications and post-approval compliance, and complex data acquisition with statistical and content analysis.
The position is also responsible for the generation of high-quality manuscripts suitable for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals. This position requires occasional exposure to biohazardous materials and X-Ray-generated radiation. Duties of the position call for the demonstrated ability to: Write research protocols and Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications relative to clinical research in weight management and carbohydrate metabolism; Coordinate and administer federal and private sector research grants; Generate manuscripts from health-related research suitable for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals; Carry out numerous clinical tasks including body fluid collection and body composition assessment using dual X-Ray absorptiometry (DXA); and Conduct highly customized data searches on the National Health And Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) database utilizing the industry-standard SUDAAN™ platform, and then statistically analyze the results. Minimum education required is a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology, Physical Education with a concentration in Exercise Physiology, or similarly relevant field.
Professional credential required is Exercise Specialist certification from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). Minimum post-degree experience required is five (5) years coordinating and conducting multi-site clinical research studies in weight management, at least three (3) years of which must have specifically involved the research and analysis of fructose metabolism in relation to obesity.
